Everyone loves the fair!
The third week in September is the official beginning of
fall in Davidson County. The Davidson County Agricultural
fair is a special event in September that the
Lexington Kiwanis Club
looks forward to every year. This project supports
Kamp Kiwanis, which provides camping
experience for deserving young people in our community.
Since the 1940s, residents have
strolled through the Exhibition Hall at the County
Fairgrounds to see the finest hand-crafted items, baked
goods, canned vegetables and flowers. Youngsters are eager
to ride the newest rides and check out animals in the barns.
Located on a 17-acre fairground, the fair also hosts the
annual Miss Davidson County Pageant, the popular Diaper
Derby, agricultural judging and exhibits, nightly fireworks,
musical entertainment and special prize drawings. This event is one of the few truly agricultural
fairs left in the state. Reithoffer Shows provides
many of the rides and games.
